Client Spotlight
Meet Bryan Tolon Portuondo, a remarkable young boy whose journey has been filled with growth, discovery, and resilience. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at the tender age of 2 to 3 years old, Bryan’s family first sought a diagnosis due to concerns about his behavior and delayed speech. His parents wanted to understand what was happening and ensure he received the support he needed to thrive.
The diagnosis was an emotional time, especially for Bryan’s mom. The family experienced moments of fear and uncertainty but decided to move forward with determination. They extensively researched their options and found the right support at the right time—joining us for ABA therapy. Over the past five years, their decision has proven to be a pivotal moment in Bryan’s journey.
In the beginning, Bryan faced challenges with explosive behaviors and frustration due to difficulties in communicating. However, within just a year of starting ABA therapy, the changes were profound. His behavior improved drastically, and his speech began to blossom. Bryan’s parents also learned valuable skills to better handle challenging moments, empowering them as a family.
Today, Bryan is thriving, and his family is overjoyed with the progress he has made. They’ve expressed their gratitude for the support and partnership we’ve shared in his journey. Together, we’ve made an incredible difference, and they are proud of the strides Bryan has taken.
Bryan is a vibrant and adventurous boy with a love for travel. He has visited places like Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Texas, Tennessee, the Carolinas, and even enjoyed a cruise! Spending time with cousins and family brings him great joy, and his excitement for exploring new destinations knows no bounds.
When it comes to hobbies, Bryan has a passion for music. Whether he’s playing music, singing, or enjoying games like Singing Monsters, his creative energy shines through. He’s also a fan of the pool and fishing—activities that let him relax and connect with nature.
As for his favorite foods, Bryan has a big appetite for steak, chicken nuggets, and French fries. These little things bring him so much happiness!
We’re honored to have been part of Bryan’s story and celebrate his incredible progress and bright future.

Meet Kris the Koala
Who is Kris the Koala?
Kris wasn’t just created in Doral, Florida; Kris was designed with purpose. After months of thoughtful research and two focus groups, our CEO, Pedro Curbelo, chose the name Koala. Here’s why: Koalas are believed to exhibit traits often associated with autism, such as strong routines and sensitivity, making Kris a symbol of understanding and inclusivity . But the name “Koala” wasn’t just chosen for its symbolism; it’s a name that transcends borders, easy to say in any language, reflecting our vision of national expansion and universal connection.
Why the Colors?
Kris’s vibrant color scheme was a team effort, chosen by our employees to reflect energy, warmth, and positivity. The most unique feature is Kris’s belly, which highlights the importance of gut health and its powerful link to the brain—a nod to the holistic approach we believe in.

What is Shaping?
This month, we’re highlighting Shaping in ABA therapy. Shaping is a technique used to teach new behaviors by reinforcing small steps that gradually lead to the desired skill. Each successive step builds upon the previous one, helping the individual master a complex behavior over time.
For example, if a child is learning to say “water,” shaping might begin with reinforcing sounds like “wa” or “ah,” then progressing to “wawa,” and eventually to saying “water” clearly. By celebrating small successes along the way, shaping makes learning manageable and rewarding!
